Boone County Court House Judge David's Community In-Service
(Mission statement)

"To set forth a common goal to come together as one community, united in the effort to provide programs, which will educate and inform all child advocates on a variety of topics which will further the cause of better understanding, nurturing, and assisting young people who are in need of help. As many mental/emotional/behavioral disorders originate in childhood, a concerted effort should be made toward the reduction of such risks, prevention of onset, and early intervention to promote healthy development and better prepare the child for adulthood."

Taking the Wheel for our Youth-

Working to Curb Distracted and Impaired Driving

Dear Child Advocate:

On Wednesday, March 17th, 2010, Boone County will hold its 11th Community In-Service.  Everyone is invited, especially YOU! We need your participation and your support. This may be our most important year ever. This year we focus on distracted and impaired driving sexting/texting/huffing/drinking as well as other challenges facing our children. We have made arrangements for an action packed day with many special features and announcements!

The conference will be held at the Witham Health Service Pavilion from 8:45 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Registration begins at 8:00 a.m.  We will have numerous exhibits from child providers and vendors. This conference is a MUST for anyone working in any way with children.  We are encouraging our elected officials to attend. This is important for law enforcement, teachers, school officials, EVERYONE! We need you there! Please make plans to attend.

We are honored to have several talented and educational speakers, including Bill Stanczykiewiez, President and CEO of The Indiana Youth Institute.  Also returning to present this year by popular demand are students from our three school corporations!  A copy of the full agenda is enclosed.

Please RSVP by MARCH 8, 2010.  Registration is $45.  PLEASE NOTE that due to the overwhelming response we have had to this conference in past years, registration at the door on the day of the conference is no longer offered.  Registrations postmarked or received after March 14, 2010 will be $55.00.  Registration fee includes Continental Breakfast and Luncheon Buffet. Continuing Education credits for social workers, educators, attorneys and law enforcement officers will be available. We look forward to seeing you, thank you for all that you do for Boone County Youth!

Sincerely,

Steve David
